Moa and stalin both were soldiers in the army wich started there clim toward power because they both were well known. After moa became in power after he used propoganda and force he used self-critisism camps and re education camps to scar people into making him a leader and not to go against him. Stalin used more talking than force and he still became a powerfull leader, without as much force as Mao.
Mao and Hitler are very much alike, they both used camps to kill poeple and showed them that they are in full control. Hilter though used camps just to exterminate a race instead of just trying to get them scared into not going against him but they used both the smae type of method. and in that time Hitler was very powerful he had almost all germans on his side either they were convinced that he was a good leader or they were terrified to speak up. Mao though did the same method with the camps but not just to kill them but to scar them into believing his leadership but also some do tend to die in these camps and they did not care because they both Hitler and Mao thought the same way. The ones who died they did not want them or need them any ways. they thought it would be better wth out them. so Hitler and Mao both thought alike on how to gain power.
After some one gets into power the tend to build a dictatorship and end up screwing up the country even more than it was before. Then they get a little cocky in a sence they think that their religion or there teaching is the only thing that matters and then it starts to get out of hand, like with Hitler and him ordering to kill that certain race to become known as a very powerfull leader. With Mao he told people that their religion is no good and he sent people to camps if they did not do as he said or if they were against him. After a dictatorship is build usually the country tends to go down instead of rise. Then war starts because another doens't agree with their beliefs or the way they running the country.

Local History Project Interview # 2 Gram
Me- so gram what can you tell me about thetown?
Gram- Well there used to be a Ku Klux Klan in Hartland
Me- Really wow, any thing else
Gram- Netties use to be a drug store and there used to be a hotel were the bank is
Me- really so the town had two hotels
Gram-ya it was a very popualr place back in those days
Me- I see so how about the diner
Gram- I dont know I do know that it has been around since the 1800's

Gram- Out behind our house were Alice Sico lives used to be a brick factory

Book Project
Response to Literature
Why did people fast when they were jail? Well in this Non-Fiction book Hunger by Sharman Russell it talks about Hunger and its importance in history and one of its topics is in the time when women did not have right’s so when they protested and went to jail they fasted (starved themselves) for days until they were released for fear of them dieing. In a sense women became powerful until they got fed up and started either force feeding them or letting them die until the rights were declared. A man named Mahatma Gandhi fasted for piece for two cities that were in battle because he was a very well respected and worshiped man by the two cities, which both made a piece treated so he wouldn’t die because of there wars. The theme of this book is that hunger plays an important part of history and is in history everyday.
In this book all the narration shows fasting one way or another either in science testing people for results, Religion, Self Image, or people just wanting to cleanse there body of toxins. These actions develop the theme because some people who have fasted changed history like for the rights for women, and with Mahatma Gandhi and the two cities.
I myself agree with the theme because hunger is apart of every day living because people around the world are starving to death because of lack of food and some people are fasting for themselves or other things but fasting is apart of history was then, is now. On discovery channel I watched a documentary on Africa and the people were dieing of starvation and mal nutrition. In the Holocaust one of the things people died from other than beatings or killing was starvation and lack of nutrition that’s also why when they were freed they died from eating because there stomach could not process all the new food that was suddenly given to them because of all the chemicals that needed to be digested. These two pieces that you have just read shows that hunger is a great part of history and how it’s not just in one place but is in every continent around the world.
The Author did a great job of providing info but he did a poor job of entertaining. This book did not get my interest but some others may find it very interesting but it was persuading on how much people fasted to improve their body or just for them, but this book is very dull in stuff that would keep you on your seat waiting for the next page to come, it just wasn’t that exiting. All the characters in this book he did portray realistically for one because they are real, and two he put you threw what they went threw while they fasted, all the emotions and symptoms and how they behaved. One thing that is in the book that gives a good example of what fasting can do, here is a quote “this man is angry because he just wants food”. The theme is believable because people around the world are starving and people did fast for rights and piece. Here is an example from the text on how women did hunger strikes for there rights. The women’s name is Sylvia Pankhurst who is one who did the hunger strikes. She was arrested for graffiti and she demanded to be treated as a political prisoner and declared that she would not eat until so. After ninety hours she was finally released and this kept on happening until the rights were declared although some women did die. The Colombian Exchange transformed the world in a more radical (fundamental) way than any other development in world history. One significant effect of this process (action) was the establishment of the Triangle Trade. While many factors were a part of the Triangle Trade, the rapid growth in both supply and demand for new commodities was the largest motivating element. This time period may be best associated (combine) with economic developments, but it is impossible to analyze (examine critically) this period without considering the intense social impact that the Triangle Trade had on those involved. In truth, a full understanding can only be gained by appreciating (realize) how economic and social factors (result) impact each other in history.
